so lets get real.
no one is reading this blog so im going to stop blogging.
in the entire time ive been writing i have had two comments. i started writing in september for fun, but this is not fun anymore. it is not fun to talk to a wall. this is my 96th post. im not looking for anyone to beg me to keep writing, but some feed back would be nice. a little support maybe or an i like that idea even. but oh well. i suppose it is necessary for there to be losers in order for there to be winners. so now i resign till further notice, forever a fashion loser without an audience, its not like i had one in the first place anyway.

well only ten days left in 2009. i suppose ill spend them reviewing what trends we idulged in these last few years. oh, it was only yesterday (2000) that i started the first grade. and now look at me; im a moody, tall teenager, who wears black all the time, with a straight across bang, and likes to read and write. my how times have changed.

well anyhooo im a big fan of pants and being such i decided to reminisce on the jean trends of the decade. hold on tight loves...

_2000_hipsters. thank god i was young and unawear of this trend but it seems that the exposed hipbone jeans from the ninteies found away to trail themselves into the 2yk. we still have hippsters. but luckily we've reformed enough so that our crotch hair isnt peeping out from the waist band.

_2002_skinnies. by far one of my favorite jean trends because they show of the slimness of my legs. it came back around the influence of rock and roll. you know stokes-inspired and what not and that is how the silhouette of the decade came to life.

_2006_wide-legged. another favorite of mine. the broke in with a vengance; high waisted and flarring ready to throw skinnies out the door.

_2008_boyfriend. this is the chich baggy of jeans, no more homo-thug style. these jeans where stolen from a bf's closet, rolled up and tied with a belt or scarf to fit the waist. plus the idea that you found them off the floor made them tres tres chic.

_2009_distressed. my grandmother always said that if i ever wanted jeans like this she'll buy me a pair from wallmart and i can destroy them myself. i agree with her. but the simple fact is that the broken down, ripped, discardedness of distressed jeans is so appealing. the too came from the rock and roll and thanks to balmain(they featured a $3,000 pair) stores rolled them out like they where the only thing being made. all you need too know is that their tight, bleached, and ripped into shape.

daily fashion tip_jeans. choose a style from above and bring them with you into the next decade. before you know it, maybe a few more decades or so, they'll be vintage and you my friend will be ahead of the curve.

late sunday no school monday!!! whoo hoo partaay. ok well not really cause theres a good foot or more of snow on the ground outside ndc last i checked all my ladies and fellas are sleeping. darn those lazy bums.

if you even knew how many things i want from this collection. my oh my dont get me started. however, if you'd like to donate items preferably medium (small would fit me but lets not forget about my limbs) then i have no issue accepting them to get rid of some of the space in my closet. just kidding. no seriously though if you want to, i wont stop you.

so i just wanted to share with you some things before this year is over and here they are

winter trends

_big hair. say hello dolly because its all about sexy wild teased hair. like lots of volume and loose spirals kind of thing. if you have short hair though do not fret, slap some pomade on and go for a cool sculpted look in your hair. try a pompadour or parting it to one side and doing finger waves.

_shoes. match your shoes with your lipstick. im so serious if your doing bright red match that with your loubitons and if you have shocking pink shoes on get some covergirl lipstain to make your lips pop. i, however, will be indulging in plum almost black lips stick to match my plum almost black shoes pumps.

_curves. the bandage dress is probably a staple for a winter wardrobe. just imagine all the eyes tha will be on you after you take that extra lare puffy coat off. bandage dresses were originaly a herve leger thing in the late eighties but it shows off your curves in all the right places. however, it is not a dress for every body type.

_white. we all love the little black dress yes, it will never die. on the other hand the little white dres is not so much of a staple as it is a traffic stopper. you can still get that classic daring cut of an lbd in any color. its all about nonconformity and chic versatility.

_redhead. if you want to die your hair but your not looking to be a blonde, rejoice. rehead is the way to go, at least i think so. everyones a blonde these days. try an apricot, papaya, or persimmon. make sure the color works with your skin tone and dont go to red we want you to be naural ove, not a clown.

_black leather boot. now, in my first blog post i had the daily fashion tip as something black for a very long time. i wont lie, i still love black. not even on an emotip, i just feel that its so simple that it works with verything and im always wearing sometype of accesorie and black lets it pop. sory off topic ther but black leathe rboots are a rock classic with or without the heel ( i love the polo version) and you can wear them with a mini dress or pants or jeans or whatever you like.

daily fashion tip_costume jewelery. think faux pearls and glam like jewels. its all about extravagence. bonus: not as expensive as real baubles but if crafted nicely you'll never know the difference. think brocade fabrics, faux leapord skin, fur jackets, gold, and snake skin shoes. omg its like katy perry has taken over my mind...

ohhhhmmmmgggggeeeeee! its snowing and baby it is cold outside.

so this weather has caused me to lose track of time and my though process so everything i planned to write about pink for this blog has been forgotten. i will however tell you what i can remember.

my favorite color is shocking pink used widely by elsa schiaparelli. i saw her exhibit when i was pretty young with my grandmother when it came to the philadelphia museum of art (god i love that place). after that i knew i wanted to be a fashion designer when i grew up. i've wanted to be an artisit since kindegarten but thats when the fashion bug bit me and im still infected to this day.

now just this year i watched funny fave what with my addiction to musicals and audrey hepburn. this opening number made me excited about the film before it even got to the nitty grity.

now we've got victoria secret pink. i love their sweat pants btw. plus its just comfy. im not into parading labels and i nvr wear sweats outside unless its gym class, which thank god i dnt have this semester, but i do like to sleep in them. pink is where the heart is, after all.

like, you cant even lie and say that that show doesnt look like oddles and oddles of fun to be in or watch.

so the first thing i see when i go to the basil soda sight is dull colors, somefunky graphics, and some funky high fashion sounding music is assulting my ears. so im like ohh boy what am i about to enter...

so i head to the bio and it turns out this guy, basil soda, opened a house in 2001 after being in the industry for a few years. so now he's at the "forefront of middle eastern chic" and hes gettin gbig in europe and the usa. which is evident becasue not only katy perry (see yesterdays post) but kim kardashina (oh and christina applegate!!) have been spotted in his haute creations. hes all about curves and "femine allure". i can dig that, though i lack curves. i think he's saying that he wants women to be elegant from what i can conclude. check out his most recent collection and see for yourself. dont forget to check out his sightin the shoppers paradise link on the side of my blog.

i love the intricate design its absolutely fantastic. im all about simplicity when it comes to my own life but when it comes to fashion its the details that make each and every garment special and thats where the beauty comes from. at least, i think so.

daily fashion tip_chiffon. a chiffon dress with some lovely classical necklace arrangment will not only make you look floaty but extremply elegant, if its cut correctly. so float on love, float on.

rodarte for target in just two days!!!!!! monday actually. im in there like swim wear.

btw. ive decided to grow my hair. yea its not tht shorrt but im always cutting it. i wonder what id look like with some slightly past shoulder length locks. i always get a straight across bang and my hair cut to my chin. but ya know new year new style maybe even though people always say that im serious. the hair i really would like to have in a dream me is below

fierce right? her locks are out the wiz-aow. now, im not gonna grow mine tht long but when i do cut it its gonna be cut straight across. no more angles. or maybe i'll get a bowl like tao okamoto. no no no. im growing it and thats that.

so i've discovered this beautifully constructed dress today. i was flipping through my moms in-style for december (taylor swift is the cover girl) and i saw this dress.

now in the magazine its worn by katy perry who wore it to the grammy awards this year. i think its fablous.

check out that weaving in the back! fantasmical!!! its so floaty yet sophisticated.
so now it begs the question who is basil soda. well i guess you'll find out tmrw follwed by a post about pink. cause im feeling the pink.

daily fashion tip_sturdy headphones. i am about to replace my second pair of headphones for this year. i just got them a few weeks ago. and now their broken. my orginal i-pod headphones lasted all the way up until november (i got them in march and then stepped on them by accident.) so now myheadphones are breaking again, from stress this time not from my oversized feet. so get some sturdy ones cause theres nothing like listening to the music you love from crappy headphones...

im listening to meek millz at the moment. if you dont know who he is you should check out his raps. please however be prepared for unappropriate language..... nevertheless this song had me thinking bout the chanel coco cocoon collection of travel bags.

check out this clip with daul kim (rip) i love it. the video i mean not the rip...

so the whole thing has lily allen as the face of it and i love her tooo! its like all my favorite people are teaming up these days! so its been featured all over the place, nylon mag, vogue, elle. you can see the ads in these same magazines and there not to bad either. the coolest part of the bags is that their reversible so theyve got that awesome quilt design or a puffier version to choose from. their really hardware like which is different for chanel but im not mad at them. i think karl lagerfeld has done right by the massses once again.

daily fashion tip_luggage. i have this issac mizrahi navy blue carry all with white trim and on the inside it's pink gingham!!! my mom gave it too me a few years ago and that makes it even better. everybody needs a bag that is totally and completely them. it just makes you feel special inside. so pack it up pack it in and the next time you hop on a plane be in your bag like meek millz.

yup thats right its just one of those days when i started watching starburst youtube commercials.

so on saturday night i watched taylor lautner on snl. he is the worlds hottest dork. it was really funny. but snl always is. you know what else is funny? elf!!! the movie with will ferell. you dont even have to like christmas watching a grown man prance around new york in green felt is just funny.
so this video taken by a random person sucks but the funny part is still in there

so plaid has been really bug but lets not forget about tartan. im mean your probably like whats the difference, i was asking the same question well here it is:

plaid (plad) n. a long, woolen garment, usually with a tartan pattern, worn as a wrap by Scottish Highlanders; a. marked with stripes.

there you have it. well im a wee bit scottish irish and i dont know what clan i belong to but im pretty sure that the burberry clan will welcome anyone willing. so here are some plaid garments with tartan patterns and my favs from the recent burberry prorsum spring 2010 collection:

so there isnt actually alot of pattern in this collection, at all. but there is lots of draping which is giving me balenciaga flash backs....

see its more of a pastel thing going on which is tottaly appropriate for spring. there are a few moore things i like about burberry and here they are:

trenches, i love me some trench coats. if i could get one every year i would, i would get one.

ad campaigns. turning a witch into a model. i mean she's already very pretty but i love how this ad campaign stars her. mario testino did an awesome job what with the lighting but staying true to the whole burberry culture thing. its pasted over one of my walls in my room but heres a little snipet.

and this dress. im going to copy cat it with my sewing machine, though i doubt it will come out just as fablous as this one :(

daily fashion tip_snl. it will make you laugh (plus the outfits they put on people are hilarious.) your mood affect the way you dress. the happier you are the more confidence you have and your clothes wont be wearing you. im mean be honest dont you always look around to see whos laughing when someone bust into giggles? exactly.

dont stop till you get enough

so today i had a fashion show for my art class. i had so much fun even though i was reall really really nervous. i made two dress but im not going to say anymore more because it was special and blogging about it wont do it justice. my memory will do just fine

but there where alot of crazy things. like i was scared the iron would burn the dress or that the saftey pin and double sided tape wouldnt hold up. but it was all good in the end. then i figured, other people have the same problems with clothing like stains and what not and wrinkles and oh my favorite perportator - pasta scauce.
so here is your ultimate winter clothing care guide courtesy of the things ive learned;

stains
_red wine. though i am not of legal drinking age i have been around many an old person who lacks balance after their first glass. hand wash with club soda. the salt absorbs the stain and prevents it from adhering and the bubbles lift it out of the fabric.
_white wine. again with the balance you old people. rinse in cold water or boiling milk.
_lipstick. remove as much as possible with a credit card or butter knife. dab with a wet wipe and then rinse with hot water to remove oils.
_tomato scauce. i love pasta so this trick has come in handy many a time. i mean alot of the time like once a week. if its small scrape it away then rinse it with cold water and liquid soap. if its big do all those steps then dab it in white wine vinegar.
_beer. rinse in cold soapy water. or pure vodka. thats right folks, vadka.
_oil. rub cornstarch and leave for at least 20 minutes. brush off with dry towel. it works better on silk and wool. when you get home pretreat with citrus oil or gall soap.
_make up. sponge that spot with a slice of white bread. no im not being racist toward potato and wheat bread and rye. white bread just works better.

care
_sweat stains. diluted vinegar.
_pilling. there are pill removers these days but i prefer the gangster gangster approach: a steady hand and a sharp razor.
_hanging. use wooden hangers. put dresses up with the lining facing out and hang creased trousers with the creases aligned.
_sweaters. fold and stack sweaters. when you hang them up they loose their shape. fold em just like shirts.

travel
_keep your best things in your hand luggage. have you seen those news segments on airport storage rooms full of lost travel stuff? those joints are huge!!
_wrinkles. after your done flying put your clothes on a hanger. hang them in the bathroom and take a nice hot shower. you'll be clean and your clothes will be unwrinkled.

prepartaion
_first aid kit. i used this a lot today. you have no idea. lint brush, sewing kit (saftey pins work for parties), and double sided tape. you'll thank me about that last one when those pictures of your boob arent on facebook...
_apron. thats right hosewife, strap it on to keep the stuff off in the kitchen. betty crocker would be so proud.

laundry
_put soap on stains the minuet they happen. its harder to remove them when their dry. theres always gall soap for you procrastinators.
_no bleach. remeber micheal jackson? enough said.

daily fashion tip_bow tie. the tuxedo look is always a winner for parties. if your hip wear some mens style pants or if your young do it with a bright colored cardi. dont forget that white shirt. ya lookin slick already...

so i went online today and to my utter dissapointment i realize that they do not make dr martens in my size. (big heavy sigh inserted here). i really wanted some. okay well actually i wanted the electric blue ones and the ones with the flowers on them but i have realized over the years that womens size twelve is not a common size. i am a minority. but here are some awesome dr marten pics tht i kinda like.

this title is for my friend who likes dijon mustard. she knows who she is.

so i just got my self a hat and gloves and scarf from hm. the ones i had last year i absolutely loved they were cream elbow length kintted mittens from urban outfitters, a cream knitted hat with the little pompom on the top (i wore it to the side cause im gangster gangster like that) and a cream chunky knit scarf from hm. today i got blue ones, all different shades of like blue, navy, russian navy combo going on here. i really dig it becasue the different colors mean i can wear it together or mix them with last years still loved slightly darker from wear cream set.

today i played tap tap revenge for the first time!!!!!! it was amazing i had so much fun playing with chels ipod touch. i have a nano that i am quite content with but i would buy a touch just to play tap tap revolution, maybe i would i think. i was sitting there at lunch bobbing my head and tapping the screen like a maniac. i probably looked like a whole fool but i was having fun. check out the link at i want to know about the screen tapping game so im gonna click here

_the chanel shanghai show is now available online, well technically it happened on the third but those of us not in the jet set crowd now have the luxury of watching it from home...

_sonia rykiel at hm is awesome... i was a tad skeptical (i so srry) but the other day i saw it and i was like ok i can dig it. loving the whole striped thing go check it out.

daily fashion tip_make up bag_my desk is cluttered with eyeliners, mascaras, and lip stains and blams. my besties house is even worse. she has this plastic sandcastle buket she keeps in her bathroom and fills it with all her makeup. one time she couldnt find something so she dumped the bucket upside down. it was like a cascade of color before my very eyes, powder falls is the perfect name for it. her mother had to call for the carpet in their hallway to be cleaned what with the lip gloss smears and the eyeshadows that ever so kindly got trapped in the fibers. cautionary tale loves. if you have an extensive makeup collection then i suggest an ikea drawer thingy with the pullout drawers. put each thing and a seperate drawer and call it a day.

_the christian louboutin barbie is on sale, it has been for a while i think but if you fear that a young relative may fall into the carvern of non style when they get older give this to her as a gift. your doing the right thing by teaching the younger generations what is proper you know.
_the chloe spring collection is available. i was not a huge fan of this collection but i did enjoy the blazers so buy those and maybe next season i will once again be wowed by the line that claims to make clothing for femme fatales (my words not theirs)
_twilights eclipse official release date is june 30th, 2009. i will be in there like swim wear.
_if you missed it lawst night rhianna and blake lively where on snl (lively hosted). it was quite hilarious. i do love me some snl/comedy (in tina fey we trust).
_anna kendrick's (jessica in twilight) film, up in the air starring clooney and her self was named best film of the year by the national board of review. i suppose ill be going to see that next weekend then.

daily fashion tip_hairspray. yes the musical is essential too but im talking about the stuff tht holds your hair up. what with all the wind in my neck of the woods i need to buy y self some. somethings are just not cute, including my french braid after its been attacked by winter breezes.

good eveing loves. so yesterday, i did get to the store by six o clock. i should give my relatives more credit.
i bought fantasmical things and chaught sales out the wiz-aow. what was really awesome for me, however, is that i just saw pirate radio. its is a must see for music lover or film lovers. never a dull moment. and the fashion!!! aww man those outfits are classic. everything from blue tights to high waters and outrageous print button downs. goos times. i wasnt alive then but you know i felt the magic. any way the movie was awesome, you should go see it, there was never a dull moment. and if you see it sit through the credits, gotta love that surprise ending.

so im all about working with what you got.
it's not like i have a choice, what with being extra longlegged and all that fun stuff. yet i realize that some people dont realize that they have choice when it comes to their clothing. if i could even describe to you the atroscities i see when im out about town. my oh my, people lack so much guidance. now i wont lie, somedays i can look rather frumpy. but im an exception because i know my options...i wonder if they do?

so here are some tips for the lot of ya.

petite

_wear clothing thats a little lose. dont go oversized thought. clothing like that will swallow you. you dont want to end up drownding in a fur like rachel zoe. the only reason she can pull it off, is cause she's got attitude. you my dear, should stay away from the overlayerd boho.

_do something a little short with something a little tall. pair some shorts with some over the knee high boots. showing a little leg makes you look longer. no couchie cutters or daisy dukes though, those are inappropraite no matter your size. (bloomers are the shortest i will advocate.)

_wear ballet flats and skinny jeans that hit you right at the ankle. if your jeans drag or bunch up you look shorter than you are. trust me, it's something i used to do to make myself appear shorter all the time.

hourglass
_try leggings over and oversized top and a fitted jacket over that. its the layering that will hide some of your curves and the fitted jacket that will make you even more hourglass shaped. you'll be walking down the street and folks will be like shes a brick house.

_wear a short dress. preferably dresses cut at the knee make you appear longer. stay away from maxidresses, maxi being the key word because we don't want you to appear as the maximum size possible.

_strapless dresses draw mor attention to your shoulders and arms which gives even more attention to your waist! the miracles of science, i know. tight yes, bandage no. it should highlight your curves not show off your tummy bulge (if you have one.)

ok, so this has straps, but you get the idea.

tall

_above the knee!!!! now it took me a lot of time to embrace this idea but shorter things really do look better on my massive legs. keep skirts and dresses four to five inches above your knee. lower than your knee and you look dis-proportionately(spell check that, dont quote me yet) short.

_sleeves that are just a little longer than normal are great. they lengthen your arms which inturn lengthens your whole body. science, again. seek wrist length coverage.

_asymmetrical tops cut your body in half. in a good way. they draw a line from the shoulder to the hip.

now that you've been informed there are no excuses. renew your entire closet on friday. it will be worth it trust me, people will be like, "there's something different about you i just cant put my finger on it." just smile and say, "is that so?"

daily fashion tip_penny loafers. cause i said so. just kidding. their not so bad if you find some cool ones. think electric blue, animal print, buble gum pink, and sleek black. for the love of bob dont get them with tassels unless you can pull it off!!!!

so i realized the other day that i've been supporting a dangerous epidemic. i want you to pick up the latest issue of teen vogue and read about the "balmainettes." it's an epidemic that i realize, has gone way to far. the strong shoulder, yes we love it, but the writer of the article is right!!! what good is a song played over and oveer again? a little black dress is only classic because you break it out for classic occasions...if you wore it everyday its not as special. now in the case of the "balmainettes" this barelegged, big shoulder, tight, black, dress, disease must stop!!! people control yourself. fashion only survives if everyone wears something different.... i response to this article i am refusing to support the "balmainettes." no more bigg shoulders...

on the other hand....
_ive started my black friday want list. you should too, after all, this friday and the day after christmas definetly constitue as a major reason to shop. i've already started my cupon clipping.........sike, i never clip cupons.

so ive been peeping a ton of people with funky walks. the sad thing is, they dont do it intentionly.
wake up people! edjumacte yourself on posture and what not. its just really sad. now i cant lie though, i have a pretty interesting walk too. .im rather tall so i try to walk in a straight line and then i pick up momentum and it's like im speed walking (i actually just have a really long stride.) but if i mess up the momentum i start to sway or i loose the rhythm in my walk. hey! nobodys perfect. but i do think a walk is something we could all improve upon. take a look below

_word on the street is that taylor lautner is going to have a barbie doll. i kno right. i mean we all love ken but taylor frick frakin lautner is a god (maybe im just exaggerating cause im a teen who likes twilight(not a twihard dont get it twisted) and taylor is only two years older than me but anythings possible...) anyway the doll is sculpted (god those abs) from his character jacob black in the twilight series by mattel. sadly the doll doesnt hit store till february 2010 to coincide with the newmoon dvd release date. even though i gave up barbies quite a while ago i wouldnt mind having this one..

( i do believe i saw him in a vogue photo spread cant remember if it was teenvogue or big people vogue, ill check.) he was also in the indie film waiting for forever supposed to show up at sundance in january. he's just a bad brit and he's causing quite the sturr (sorry i couldnt resist.)

blake lively_spotted at the secret private lives of pippa lee screening in nyc sunday night. she did her little bare under the blazer look she's so fond of. she also wore black crepe shorts by marchesa (a fave brand of mine.) someone peeped her gossip girl costars and beau chance crawford and penn badgley supporting her.

dakota fanning_on the cover of teen vogue check her out. i love her. i hope shes not one of those child stars who tanks casue i really love how her roles in movies are getting more diverse as she gets older. she play a pain infklicting vamp in new moon.

sarah palin on oprah_i watched the interview and i must say i dont hate her anymore. i just want to know what was up with her hair? was that a white woman weave she was sporting or did volume magically spring up from the depths of nowhere to support her hair?? anyway. she had some interesting points but for the love of god she avoided half the questions. go check it out. (this relates to fashion because of her "infamous wardrobe")
taylor swift_if u dont go buy her album i will sock you. i will straight up come through this computer and knock you out. even if you dont like country music you must admit that the natural blond with curly hair and a killer red carpet wardrobe is the boom digiddy. she has buzzz out the wiz-aow. rumor is that she might be dating taylor lautner...idk. i aint mad at her though. like i said she got buzzzz.

daily fashion tip_head and shoulders (knees and toes, knees and toes.) dandruf is just not cool. it never will be. neither is a unconditionally itchy scalp. so lather rinse repeat until the dead skin is gone! but dont scratch your scalp, especially not if you use alot of hair products, it will make your skin super sensitive. shampoo away.

god bless this man. he had shorts in his collection. not bermudas or hot pants or bloomers. shorts!! my cry for moderate decency has been answered. he showed off his playsuits again, one in leather was quite attention getting. some interesting jackets and the amps in the background definetly screamed rock and roll but this show wasnt heavy metal, unless you count the silver filgree overlapping outfits.

louis vuitton

this show had the best song. (hands up, thumbs down, representing that...) they also had fabulous fros (with bows in them) and a color pallet out the wiz-aow. there was a lot of mixing and matching. the vibe of the show had this im a backer packer feel but there was also some sporty, military, and native american things in there. the bags where backpacks and satchels with fur tails hanging off them. my favorite piece was the wrap style pant, definetly gonna have to get some of those.

maison martin margiela

they like to break rules, what more can i say? they say it was a study in volume and texture but what collection doesnt involve volume and texture. oh and for the love of bob what the hell was going on with those boots? they better just be some paper bags because i felt that was a waist of leather. i could totally work with them though, if they werent so floppy. the show itself, was a flop. actually scratch that, make your own decsion. my favorite piece was the, well see the thing is, i didnt really like any of it...

miu miu

i loved the animal prints!!!!! i dug some of the pants suits. there where some little girl dresses in there with cutouts...idk but prada did not dissopoint me thats for sure.

there was a clear plastic trench trimmed in black. that sums up my love of this collection. but the models shimming up and down asile, suits covered in studs, lace, anf flirty dresses where ok too. the quilting thing was a nice touch to everything too. but come on, nothing can top a plastic black lined trench. maybe im baised.

tulle ball gowns (deep breath) cut in to pieces (another breath) and they turned out fabulous (and exhale.) it was awesome. the dutch duo is awesome. they also did a little lace trip putting their two cents into this season lingerie trend.

its all about stoping consumerism and being pro green. the few pieces that stood out from the deflated bra cups and unfinished hems, where the suits. the whole thing was crazy, and i can appreciate that. (check out the flame like hair.)

surprise i suppose was my reaction to this collection. it was odd, the laderhosen and strawberry scattered dress. there was no definite statement. very minimalism and lady like things. the suits, well, at least i'll all ways have those.

daily fashion tip_hair pin. their great for windy days when pieces of your hair randomly go flying about. i have a pearl one, its a bit old but it doest the job. their are tons and extra cheap too if you get them from claires or your local beauty store. in the summer i tend to wear bright plaid patterned and flower one and in the winter i break out the monochromes and jewel pins.

it just a shame you know? fashion is one of the few art form that relies on money even though alot of designers would do it without all the money, but if you dont by from them they cant reinvest in their company to make collections for the next year. the same thing goes for books and architecture. oh and films, cant forget those cinematic things that alter the way we see things, sing songs, and come up with catch phrases. but fashion does that too...its just a shame (sigh)

i felt lauren bacall the entire show. its like she was whispering tips into gallianos ear when he was creating the collection. the whole thing screamed femme fatale and i wouldnt have expected anyless because after all dior did start the whole undies peeping out of the clothing thing that every designer has hopped on. it stareted with trech coats, which i love. chiffon dresses, a semi-transparent gown, and a red vamping gown stood out. it was provocative, but who wouldnt want to be? now only if i could get me some humphery bogart...

comme des garcons

i love how rei kawakubo infuses a sense of humor into her shows. the shoulder pads placed oddly_definetly a jab at our current obsession with the strong shoulder this past year. irony the best part of art and she does it to a t. love the collage like mash up of fabric with red glitter over it.

costume national

vegatable died leather biker chick ensemble stood out in the collection. but it seems that using the lame trailing threads is really where its at for capasa. he used it before but the effect is pretty awesome almost floaty gohst like. plus the slashed dress are tottaly for the vamping. nd by the way is it even legal to make shorts that short???

elie saab

curves and a little bit of skin guarenteed. some fifties fit dresses and some floor sweeping gowns plus crayon colors. defiently a collection for the redcarpet lady.

giambattista valli

a contrast to the fall collection with shorter hems. a lot of drop wait dresses. some cocoon coats and a few jazzy like numbers and oversized carpet looking prints. i loved the bright pops of color at the end.

givenchy

high waist lines and print covered everything. the first look was a geometric jersey jacket with draped pants and a logenze fronted top. very roman arabic thing goning on. i like the kilts and the tulle swathed dresses a ton. peep the multilayered tutus. the white dresses at the end are definetly my favorite.

hermes

tennis was the theme. different variations of the tennis skirt, some long cardigans, and club ts. the blue suede umpire blazer screamed to me. hermes clothing is perfect because its instyle without being trendy. you know if you buy it you can where it again and it will still have the same affect no matter what the year. plus there where navy or white ankle skimming gowns that had absolutley no competition. game.set.match.

issey miyake

a floating black gown did it for me. patchwork and handpinting had their mark, but that gown. it was interesting, kind of like all the spots on a compass where like hey lets get together and make clothes. and the best part is, it turned out pretty awesome. (peep the saddle shoes.)

jean paul gaultier

he named the collection, "the g spot." there was the cone bra corset. there was a model who came out with quite a bit of bottom heavy paddign and she looked a little embarassed. i loved the overalls though.

john galliano

hollywood hollywood. and not in the micheal kors way, in a way about film noir divas losing their influence. (did u see the bubbles on the runway? awesome right?) it was kida a story about how old was getting kicked out by new technology. i loved the coats covered in film gel flower clusters. there where some bias cuts i dug. the creepy doll make up? well that, i kinda dug too.

im listening to the new moon soundtrack right now. it pretty gangster
eve if your not into the whole vamp thing the soundtracks are pretty awesome. i have the one for twilight in my stereo and it's introduced me to alot of new sounds. im particulary fond of muse now...(check out the uprising video, its got evil teddy bear, gotta love it.)

so this indie music got me feeling like i outta start on the paris part of fashion week. here goes nothing....

color color color. hizzah for alber elbaz!!!! the man did it out the wizz-aow. it started kinda slow you know with pieces youd generally expect to see from lanvin then the color started streaming in, and the sequins, and oh my bob polyester jumpsuit!!!!! there was vermillion, salmon, and peach and gold jewlery. and leather, i do adore a lovely leather. my favorite was puffy quilt number and i did love one at the end worn by karlie kloss, orange with things peeking out and a bow at the shoulder.

razzle dazzle, well she tried. i do enjoy the dress centric line though. lots of whites and to my surprise a drawstring jumpuits. there where also some froks with her cat on them, very charming, that made me think of brekfast at tiffanys. there was a white column with a chain mail bolero that made me go gaga. plus there was a navy trench and i just love trenches.

this guy is a trendsetter. totaly blows everything out the water with his huge shouldered numbers. military inspired the max with sequins, tattered shirts, destroyed jeans. my favorite piece is the bullet blet. oh and there where these loin cloth stained skirt thingys, super-hyper-over-sexed-sub-content going on there. mash would be proud.

its so simple its perfect. reworked philo is a genious, i love how her clothing stands on its own. its like this is all you need. leather ts, lace dresses, and some miltary jackets. a very simple colors like beige, white, black, and carmel. i loved the high wais wide leg pant, it reminded me of her days at chloe.

that said. she did get a few tailored looks in her show. very nice, very nice. hippie frocks and safari suits. gotta love the bathing suits peppered in here and there. oh and the bangles up to the models elbows!!! are my new signature thing for spring.

this duo is doing denim for spring. i peeped a paneled miniskirt and a motojackets. there where alot of harme pants though. im not really a fan of that. im not sure i understand the need for a really low croch unless your a man but it is what it is.

oh he's just so much fun fun fun. his show he named astaire case or obstacle course, and it was nothing less. unfinished lapels and tulle that looked like it was wrapped around the body. the rain machine in the background (and the golf cart)? im not to sure i loved that but the sequin dresses, black and white numbers, and the chiffons i did adore. p.s. the hats are just too awesome.

luxury is jus so lovely. even if you dont like fashion, how could you ever turn your back on one of his creations without ate least reaching out and trying to touch the embriodery and fabric with your hands? thats what i thought. his was rich in color (orange, purple, teal, a lime green)and rich in everything. there was a safari jumpsuit that im probably going to end up trying to find an imitation for. thought it wont come close the teal was just phantasmical. plus a bronze linen trench and creamy tweeds. my heart flew out the wizz-aow (window.)

some tailored looks popped up and i was like whoa mama! but they were nice. a menswear pant, rolled up sweat pants, and i do believ a jersey t. quite a lot of orange in the beginning but there were other colors a yellow at the end a bit of white through out. effort lessly gorgeous drewssing none the less.

twenty six and oh my bob i hope i can do what he does one day. i love how hes alway challenging himself, this year with luxe fabrics and playful like designs like a navy tweed hood (holla). one shoulder gowns out the wizz-aow and a denim silk romper fortish thing. peep the tulip skirt and the electric limey green belt on a strapless pink feather gown. when i get some money me and his closet will be bffs. plus he pulled out the awesome candy colored platform strappy heels

daily fashion tip_color. well what with the ongoing parade of patterned fabrics, low crotches, and utterly desturbing over ripped lace shirts, its time for some reform. buy a super colorful something made out of an outrageous fabric. like a teal wide sleeve jacket, a pink feather dress with a lime belt, a lipstick red suit, or an embroidered trench. that way you can wear everything else extra simple like. and do yourself a favor, just dont wear the exact same look as the look on the runway. i dont care, what objections you have, your a copy cat if you do. be true, do you, colorfully.

so i have decided that there are simply too many wonderful collections for me to choose from. instead of downsizing completely im goning to give you the sneaky peak on my favorite ones from each fashion week. take a deep breath, you might want a glass of water near by, and if you feel fashion overload coming just stop and think of all the wonderful things you'll know after you finish reading this blog.

so the mans a genius, that much is obvious...

so the entire line was a two thubs up, for me at least. all the models donned bunny bows kind of a smaller scale of maddonas at the met ball. to my extrem pleasure it seems that this trend has traveled quite far, at least enought for most of the girls in my school to emulate the style. the jackets have a kind of old style with the pinched shoulders but not as big as the eighties strong shoulder that been around this year. he also used neon again like he had for fall. then of course, he pulled out the african tribal prints and i was having seziures of joy. omg i almost forgot the jumpers, those where awesome too.

anna sui

lifes a circus in this show. there was a big top feel with the ring master jackets. it was kinda pop sixtyish thing going on. i was feeling jean shrimpton like with the printed headscarves and shifts and such. the prints really are adorable and i think they balance out the fact that this line seemed a lot more tomboyish then others. but it worked. lots of cute tailored pieces too. im also really digging all the sweaters very varsity like....

3.1 phillip lim

the red runway of geometric shapes just screamed that something fantasmical was going to happen. and it did. he opened with a suit that looked like a jumpsuit, also red. it turns out that suit is washable!!!!! i kno i was like ooooohhhh myyyyy goooooddddd! i was like someone call the fire department because this man has commited arson. on the other hand the dresses are swingy and they there were some nife pleats and sequins i saw. there was also a lizar pattern trench but subtle not screaming reptile, and i do love a good trench. im turly fighting the urge to splurge on something lipstick red at the moment.

thank bob he jumped after that fall collection of like sixteen looks. this was alot more than that and there was a shine to every look. some saftey orange and blues here and there. some funky tweeds and a jewled neck line. wood cut prints too. colorfully eccentric is the way to describe it. thank bo he jumped back though.

rodarte

the sister sister team came through. i exspected nothing less and i got a little more. but i love being honest and i did enjoy the collection but the color pallet made me think of puke. you decide for your slef. it was kinda like my stomach was lurching. i liked the looks at the end of the collection better. craftsman ship was beautiful, as always.

ralph lauren

he owns the swag mart and your are just the bag boy. (trust me you better clean up whatevers in asile seven.) it could be that i've become really fon of john steinbeck recently or it could be that this collection just screamed to me. the mans an original american brand riches to rags and the line showed that this recession has no effect on his ability to keep it moving. faded news boy caps, oversized jeans, calico dresses, ankle socks, oxford heels, and patch work overalls. he worked in some thirtiesish suits, night shirts with beading and an overalll turned lame dress. like a rolling stone indeed (bob dylans like a rolling stone played for the show.)

skin is sensitive in all climates but cold is definetly its arch enemy. no one loves chapped lips, dry skin, or frozen noses, unless of course you are the cold. here are some tips i've found in my fifteen years that are guarenteed to brighten your complection to a healthy glow.

1_dermatologist. lets be honest, there is no one who could give you better advice on what to do with your skin then someone who's certified.
2_water. yes, you've heard the eight glass thing so many times but getting 64 ounces of water everyday really does make you feel better. an easy way to sneek in those glasses is to drink two cups of water during every meal.
3_sugar. slow down on your intake of your favorite cupcakes cookies and candies. try to eat something sweet one day then a fruit or vegtable the next.
4_sleep. eight hours is not for everyone, but a regular sleep schedule will do miracles for everything in your life.
5_cucumbers. not they are not a myth the lady at the spa put them on your eye for a reason. cucumbers can hydrate and sooth your delicate eyes.
6_scrub.exfoliation is keeeey! your body produces skin pretty fast and if it builds up it will clog your pores. eww. gentle scrubs are great foe everyday but be cautios with heavy dutty scrubs they can dry your skin
7_moisture. affter skins been scrubed its better able to pick up moisture. you should put it on every morning and evening. look for brightness-boosting ingredients like hydroquinone, kojic acid, azelaic acid, mulberry extract, and grape-seed extract.
8_sunblock. no matter where you live those uv rays can find you. use a sunscreen on your skin to protect it. there is a difference between being, tan and being an orange sunburnt mess,
9_green tea. it's main ingredient is polyphenol (egcg) and its 100 times more effective at neutralizing fre radicals than vitamin c.
10_veggies. mother knew best. the antioxidants and vitamins in blueberries and broccoli fend off free-radical damage (ahem, aging brown spots and fine lines), while the beta-carotene in carrots and lycopene in tomatoes reduce the likelihood of UV damage.
11_peel. try a solution with low levels of glycolic acid and/or natural fruit enzymes like pumpkin, papaya, and pineapple to dissolve dead skin cells gently. do it as often as once a week,or as little as once a month,to give your face a quick pick-me-up.
12_steam. if you cant do the spa thing, your shower will do just fine. it gets the oxygen in your blood flowing, helps your body in sweating out toxins, and helps clear pores of grime and debris. bonus; a steam session also leaves you with rosy pink cheeks.
13_color. the right hair color can make your skin look fantastic, its not to bad for your hair either. opt for warm tones, asshy tones can make you look sever and and took dark leaves you emo. and for the love of bob, blonde is not for everyone.
14_vitamin. it will do wonders for your health and skin. you dont gotta get fancy a drugstore brand will do.

ancient family secrets:

15_oxygen. yes to exercise and no to smoking. high levels of oxygen in blood keep your capillaries strong and increase blood flow. it will also make it easier for you to fit into skinny jeans.
16_lemon juice. if you went overboard with the tinting never fear. a little lemon juice can correct self-tanner mishaps just gentley rub a fresh slice of lemon over over bronzed areas and it will ighten the sumdges. then rinse it off.
17_acid. not not drugs you fool. fatty acids like omega-3 will protect you against sun burn and inflammation. it also helps skin seal in moisture. try salmon, walnuts, and flax.
18_multitasking. im talking bout your foundation. look for a formula that contains vitamin c, which helps even skin tone and minimize blotchiness. if luminosity is what you’re after, a liquid is always your best bet, the moisture in it helps increase light reflection.
19_highlight. illuminate your skin with an oil-free liquid iridescent highlighter. mix it with your foundation, face lotion, or body lotion or use it alone, it’s an easy way to highlight brow bones, contour cheeks, and give you a head-to-toe glow.
20_ cotton and milk. to reduce under eye circles, soak cotton pads in cold whole milk and put them on your eyes for a few minutes. the temperature helps to constrict blood vessels and the lactic acid in milk hydrates and plums your skin so the blueness is less noticable.
21_ice cubes. rub an ice cube all over your face everymorning and your good to go.

To hold the bun in place, use a hair-tie or bobbi pins to secure.

so anyway i figured i fill you in on my little obsession_models.
yea i know everyone loves models, but there are a few i absolutely adore. i wouldnt call it stalking but i look for them in shows and when ever i see them in an editorial i squeal for joy. here are my top favorite muses.

chanel iman_ she is by far my favorite model. i first saw her when i started subscribing to teenvogue. she was on the cover with two other girls (who will be mentioned later) and now shes taken over the world. maybe its becasue there are very few african american female models who have made it big, but i think its my love of her stems from the fact that as part of the new generation she brings a new face (korean and black.) she also has fantasmical eyebrows, almond eyes, and a walk that would shame a jungle cat. here are some pics of her in spring shows this year;

karlie kloss_i <3 her. that is the best way to describe it. i also discovered her throught teen vogue. she's only seveteen and she for just about all my idols namely karl lagerfeld. shes got legs up to her frik frakin armpits and a vampire worthy stare. below are her flicks;

ali micheal_also teen vogue spotted. she had a tiny rift in her career over her weight but she steped up and talked about it. now shes back in the game with coach ads out the wizz-zow.

jordan dunn_graced this months teen vogue cover with chanel iman. i envy her skin i really do, its always shining. her eggo is preggo at the moment but she was still walking runways and gracing pages this fall.

tao okamoto_i feel in love with her haircut, its true. and im not the only one, an entire runway show (of course at this moment the designers name has slipped my mind) contained wigs fashioned after her do.

christy turlington_just call her the comeback kid (not kate moss comeback though.) she's really simply gracefull. her face has beautiful angularity and she's in shape as in goddess.

so im feeling better. i went outside today (three cheers for moi.)

so like i said yesterday i was watching the titanic and afterwards it hit me on just how important costume designers are. it is the language as well as the clothing in a movie that let us know when and where we are. if the hero in a pirate movie is wearing dolce and gabbana your like, wait a minute, this just doesnt seem right. however, if he's been covered in dirt, his coat tails ripped, shirt untucked, hair a mess, and he's got a cut on his arm, then everything clicks.

deborah l. scott_ this lovely lady has won an oscar and worked on just about thirty three movies (correct me if im wrong.) my favorites include et, titanic, wild wild west, and transformers 1&2. her designs are quite versatile and i mean you gotta love her for vamping up megan fox's look right?

eric daman and meredith markworth-pollack_this is the pair that merrily dresses my favorite upper eastsiders, the cast of gossip girl. the show, believe it or not, is actually alot better when you watch it without sound. wether you dig serenas roll out of bed beauty, blairs preppy perfection, jennys good girl gone bad, or vanessas' boho baby doll theres a style for everyone. let us not forget chuck bass, he could charm the pants of any one with one of his signature combos.

fabio toblini_ he's a costume designer for dance, opera, musical and theater productions. this man has a magic needle, i swear to bob he does.

adrian adolf greenberg_this man is by far the most famous american costume designer. he designed costumes for everthing from the wizard of oz to anna karenina and pride and prejudice. he did right by metro-goldwyn-mayer because an entire genration grew up watching his films and trying to dress like the lovely ladies he worked with. they include greta garbo, norma shearer, jeanette macdonald, jean harlow, katharine hepburn and joan crawford.

daily fashion tip_pen. you never know when your going to need to write something down. i find that keeping a pen in my bag makes it easy to remember spur of the moment things. of course, if you don't want scribble all over your hands i suggest you buy a note book. it's also helpful if u have a phone thats at the end of its life and you dont wanna give it to the daddy asking for your number....not that i would know.

heyyy! so i have yet to fully recover but i am feeling much better then i did yesterday. thank god for chicken noodle soup. i think im entitled to stock in campbells after all the cans of their soup i downed yesterday.

anyhooo. today will be my thirty first blog so technically, this is my one month anneversarie of blogging because some months have thirtyone days right?

now i was going to rave on and on to you about louis vuitton and valentino, but i think i just might have something better; sneaker culture. now, i cant unmask to you the entire world of rubber sole collecting, pimped out graphics, and limited edition kicks in one blog, but i can share with you what i know about the world of high and mighty treaded soles.

converse_an american staple. thats all i really have to say. they are the badass dress up dress down shoe. the one shoe that even when the soles are flapping off and ur laces have chewed themselves, do not give up. i think they kind of body that "american" spirit. the idea that ur down for whatever but you do your own thing even when the odds are against you. in the shoes case this would of course be concrete, exterme weather, and dogs. go to converse.com and personalize ur own chucks for (red) the proceeds go tot aids funding. now, personally i have never owned a pair of chucks (see the thing is i wear a size twelve in womens, and chucks give me clown feet) but i am absolutely inlove with their ads. here is my favorite.

nike_just do it. what more motivation do you need then that. not only do they put out a kick ass shoe but the boast a ton of other things; athlete training. check out their ad with serena williams her rhymes are tight but her back hand is fierce. the company started in 1964 but was named nike in 1978 after the greek goddess of victory. so grab a pair and hop to it.

puma & adidas_call it a war call it a rivalry , but if you mess with a mans sneak you mess with him. this could never be more true as adidas and puma where founded by rivaling brothers. they started making shoes together in thier moms washroom in the 1920's then they fell out over their political diferences and set up shop on different sides of a river in southern germany. in 1948 when the brothers set up their seperate buisneses the town was split, if you worked for puma you where a puma man and if you worked for adidas, you better not be on the puma side of town. to this day tensions run high in the town, your best bet would be to visit wearing unbranded flipflops. its just a shame that adi and rudolf dassler never made up. i can say though, that i have a pair of navy pumas that are the shiznip. on the other hand, when i was in the six grade i got these stan smith adidas white with clear bottoms, you know i was fly. check out these...

daily fashion tip_personalize. help out a starving artist by giving them ur old kicks and asking them to doll you up a pair thats all you. i got my bff chels mula to do up my old adidas (the ones form sixth garde) and o golly wolly i do believe dmc wrote a song for me. sneaker sites have a way where you can coustomize ur own but giving a fresh new coat of paint to and old pair will do just fine, after all it is a recession.

this is my twentyninth blog. its almost been a month. im gonna be writing something kickass for tmrw tho.

so ystrday i i said i would tell you about the chole and chanel shows and im keeping my promise.

chloe_i was not pleased. not in the leastest. i mean... the clothes are great and all but, i was just expecting more. there was that same never changing color pallet, some boy like clothing, sheer dresses, camper looking looks. i saw some shoes, leather, strappy like and all. yet, i was kinda like...thats it? form your own opinion wtch the show your self, tell me what you think. i just was looking for more after last years spring show i was like wooooh mama!!! but now im think i might need a hug, and a cup to hold my dissopointment in.

chanel_this was a definite pick up. my frown was turned upside down. i mean goo gobs of happiness are arrising from my spirit this very moment. it was a barn raising event. as always, the set was incredible!!!! lilly allen provided the livest sound track and the just shiftted like well oiled tracktor gears. there where fabulous tights, clogs(which seem to be the new it thing these last few years), poppy prints, basket weaves, aprons, and peasenty pieces. there where some ruogh textures mixed in with the ivory, beigey, transperent, and black pieces. everything was skillfully themed but the presentation in no way resembled a hoe dowm. though at the end there was some rolling in the hay, but whatever works, and this friends, worked well (insert your applause to karl lagerfeld here.)

daily fashion tip_tweed. tweed is excellent, specifically in suits, like say a chanel suit.. if it not in your budget not to worry. a matching pair of tweed shoes and a bag will keep you just as classy. besides, tweed is the perfect texture for fall; strong and bold.

good evening ladies and gentlemen.

i just want to have a huge round of applause for alexander mcqueen (insert your applause here.)
i saw his show yesterday and after being mind bloggled to a point where i could not condense the information, i decided to write on it today. packed was the word, the air was sparky and it was a production if i ever saw one. ap-perently the site that was supposed to stream the show live, crashed. it's up and running now, but my goodness it was just electric.

snake scale replications, heels liek pointed toe ballerina feet, and hair liek fangs! the mans a dreamweaver because the show was cosmic. before the final run through people where clapping. that is a good show. all the dresses where short with reptile prints the colors change from green, brown, and blue shades that complimented the construction of each garment. fantabulous!!!!! i've put in some of my favorite looks for your viewing pleasure.

p.s. tmrw i will be giving you my thoughts on chanel, chloe, and valentino. get ready for a whole new world.

so spring collections are starting to wrap up. *tear.
i cant share with you every collection i've seen but i hope the ones i've written about got you excited and inspired. however, yestrday i promised i would tell you all about stella mccartney (if it werent for my extreme fatigue i could have told you earlier)

stella is just an awesome name, at least i think so. for awesome names there are awesome collections and boy was i pleased when i saw those flouncing ruffles, military like patterns, bright burst of color, and more sheer pandamonium flounce down stella mccartneys runway in paris. (in case you didnt already know im color biased. i do love blue, it looks fantasmical against my skin and waters just so delicious) so it was no surprise that i was thrilled when out comes a pair of menswear style bright blue pants. I almost yelped in joy. i also believe i saw an asymetrical long sleeved shirt with bloomer liek bottoms. talk about ur sexy back. check out the looks for your self on her website, found in my shoppers paradise links. i do adore the ruffles as well.

daily fashion tip_moderation. i think that the perfect closet is a qunique mix of masculine and femme. leaning towards on side is great but dont discrimante the more you mix the more your outfit reflects you (this also stems from my belief that wearing and outfit entirely designed by one person is tacky (this excludes dresses, suits, and shoes) if ur cap is polo, and ur shirt is polo, and ur socks are polo, and ur watch is polo, ur boxers, ur sneakers, jacket, colonge, and undershirt are polo, you damn well better be in a polo tornament or else ur just a walking hunk of polo.) i just wanted to throw those observations out there. logo city is just not pretty.

any hooo. im freaking out a little inside because my november teen vogue has yet to come. i heard it has jordan dunn and chanel iman on the cover but i wouldnt know because i have yet to recieve mine. i never throw a copy of teen vogue out. i've been getting them since i was eleven.

on the other hand i watched the stella mccartney show today. i do adore that stella, always putting things out that i'd wear. more details on that tmrw. so much to do so little time.

i'm still trying to figure out how to put up pics of all the fantasmical things i see to share with you. lets just say it's a work in progress.

daily fashion tip_statement necklace. its perfect for a simple frock, party dress, or to jazz up you'r plain white tee. for slim in the front women i suggest long beads. no not mardi gras, i mean delicate chains and strands of pearls. if you like chunky find a long necklace with a chunky piece at its lowest part. uber curvy women try chocker like strands. no they should not actually choke you but if they have a pendant it should rest between your collar bones. mid length works for just about any size though it should be worn by those of you not sporting a to b's or d's. try not to layer to much. always take one think off before you leave the house, coco chanel taught me that.

when i was checking out alexander pre spring/summer 2010 line and i do believe im in love. from strapping dresses, quite literally, to paint splatters, shoulders of steel, and wasp like lace overlaying yellow dresses. and to my surpeise what did i spy? open toed boots!! this is going to be a big one for spring ladies better start making those pedicure appointment early. my favorite looks are 40, 12, 14, and 22.

yesterday i was watching the pirates of the caribbean three. oh dear god my love of pirates increses everytime i watch it. now, im no fan of johhny depp (i think hes a marvelous actor, hot? not so much) but his pirate talk is the saviest? i've watched the movie so many times but yesterday i discovered a new favorite scene. its at the very end when the east india trading companys ship is being destroyed after the whoorlpool scene. the main man, cant remember his name, has realized that the term "just buisness" swings bothh ways. so he walks down the steps towards the deck and in a beautiful moment of cinematography, the cannons blow the entire ship up behind him every time he takes a step another part of the ship explodes. then the entire ship is blown to bits, main man going with it. talk about down for the cause. how does this relate to fashion? military jackets, tailored, brass button, and those lovely wrist length sleeves. i wore the one i bought from h&m last year as a tribute. find your own and just go where ever the wind takes you. yo ho, yo ho, pirates life for me.

the balenciaga 2010 spring line is enough to get you talking. my favorite part of each of their collections? the shoes!!!! from tottering heels to this seasons open toed boots i remained stupified of the craftsman ship. this season they went for street appeal. lots of leather, lots of sheer. some of the pieces even have a play-doh look that surprsingly works. unlike the bloomer/nicker bottoms we've been seeing and the exposed lingere, nicholas ghesquière as pioneered yet again with a fierce as all get out sports wear straight leg pant!!!! all the pieces have an athletic feel but maintain the great construction we expect from balenciaga. check out look number 24 at style.com. its my favourite.

daily fashion tip_drapes. take a hint from ceaser and do the grecian thing. no im not talking about a toga party. there are hundreds of flattering drape styles out there this fall from skirts, dresses, to gowns. they enhance hour glass figures, hide love handles, and add curves where you never though you had them. helen of troy would be proud.

daily fashion tip_treaded soul. yes the emo hipster writer thing is very attractive at the moment but im talking about this mirage of heel/boots that have been cloaking feet everywhere. in the spirit of adventurism, try a pair on. manolo blahnik has a pair with "lux-industrious lizard skin" vogue. even if your not excavating in egypt, these boots are flirtatious enough to be pretty but tough enough for the concrete jungle. take the hint from rosemary clooney and get to walking.

well I'm feeling quite culture warrior like today. it seems that even in my small less fashionable learning enviroment, people actually have taste. *tear. im so proud. so todays topic focuses on this and this as in hair. oh yes, one of the most versatile accesories you shall ever have. even if its short, it is still a ginormous part of your daily outfit.

hairbands have made quite a comeback since gossip girl catapulted it as the "it" essential for all queen bees. think of it as an informal crown of anarchy. this year, headbands are more animalistic. i mean everything from bows to bunny ears have popped up on the streets. i've seen rose headbands made from zippers and scarf headbands turned into floppy hair holders. their everywhere; the ears have it. so heres a breif history of this seasons bow, bunny, and mouse ears

_dont even get me started on paris hilton just google it and decide for yourself

bonsoir! i do believe the parisan spirit has taken hold of me today.

my show synopsis for you today is marc jacobs. i truly adore marc jacobs collections because he is fashion forward. some designers talk about their working brining the past into the future, yet, marc jacobs is one of the few who actually winks at the past and nods at the future at the same time. his fall collection was and eighties showdown. bright neons and leggings galore. if you think pat benatar is so yesterday think again. many designers for the fall have revisited the eighties because many of the new up and coming designers grew up in those times. no, it was no the grunge eighties marc gave us. he gave us the eighties of fab and glam and guarntee that no matter where you go, love is a battle feild and with an outfit like his, you must be on the winning side.

his spring collection screams a few words; ruffles, sheer, sparkle, pearl, and flats. I do not believe their was a heel in the entire show. you may think this odd, but these flats are not to be juged on their size but on the content of the simple flair. many people where siting the seventies in the softness of his collection but i think romance had the biggest effect on his ideals for spring. (romance is big for spring). he also showcased quite a few bloomers. no these are not to be worn under clothes their far to fabulous. the chloe 2009 spring show also show cased some bloomers and it seems liek under wear is making a come back. check out the satin ones he pairs with sheer legings in a lilac, silver, and muave, ensemble known formaly as look number 35.

there is also some plaid. hint hint the youth of the east coast have become very fond of plaid (i.e. my peers) and it proves that we knew something you didn't know. in the end, however, it seems that my favorite part of all of marc jacobs shows are his coats. a good trench is a good trench no matter how you style it and if you dont believe me take it up with sherlock.

daily fashion tip_vaseline. i can not tell you how many crusty crackly lips i have seen as the weather is getting colder. slap something on them please! burt bee's has fantastic lip balm and if u want to keep it simple stop by cvs and pick up a chapstick. even if you have tiny lips, or luscious full ones, remeber that crust belongs on pizza not your face.

good evening.

so flowers, they smell great. and dont give me that, i have allergies, you know you think their pretty.
well i like lanvin. no i cant afford a tibit of it but i think its pretty.

just a recap of their fall 09 collection; the colors stayed pretty dark and neutral. their was a lovely shock of red, a coat if im correct. yet, the black and darkness works for this collection because it compliments the hardware perfectly. im talking about the accessories my friends. hardware for day wear for night wear. its so big all you probably need to do is wear a trash bag and put your hair in a bun. (im kidding, you'd look like a total weirdo if you wore a trash bag and lanvin gems and bags.) you will definetly stop traffic. the clothes are world war reminiscent. the silhouetts date back to those hourglasses figures and the higher hemlines. the clothing is draped, ruched, ruffled, and strong. ohh and did i mention fur!?! i love fur! lets not forget that steaming sound track. fierce.

the resort collection however is light and flirty. long dresses. pajama shapes and flowers. birght colors and flowing shapes complete the look.

if there is one thing i can say for lanvin, its that no matter what collection alber elbaz put out, i always want one thing from each look. clothing lust, i thinks so.

daily fashion tip_are you feeling the chill yet? i certaintly am. if indian summers got you confused on wether to wear your summer stuff or pull out the fall goodies i've got you covered. remeber all those maxi dresses? well wear those with a wrap and some boots. who said you have to choose between seasons? take a hint from the beatles and come together.

omg.
karl has done it again. i'll explain later but at the moment i prefer to rant. where to begin; i'm so going to be a pirate for halloween, i'm going to try some dangerous smokey eye, nautica(not the brand) is my new look.
ok, i feel better now.
i'll start at the beginning, only because i love you, though.

i never watch fashion shows during fashion week. it may sound weird, but i am a student and fashion week is almost always the second week of the school year. i like to watch the shows, sitting. i hate those things that only show you the "looks" from the show. i want the whole production! the makeup, pictures of people in the front row, the music from the show, and those fierce model trots and poses.

that is what i got today from watching the chanel 09/10 cruise fashion show.(i <3 chanel.) i would love to tell you what look i loved the most. (in order to do that, i would have to watch it many more times. thats what i'll do i'll watch it again.) i loved all the looks. all of them. even the mens wear, hey i can do the androgynous thing. everything was done beautifully. i may be biased because i love the beach and nautical colors, or because i have fawned over chanel since i was a tiny tot. nevertheless, go watch the show at http://www.chanel.com/fashion/8#8-cruise-2009-10-ready-to-wear-chanel-fashion-show-12,0

i have also decided to try a black smokey eye but with purple and a gold lid. it maybe outrageous but i think the more unusual, the more expressive. (check out the lids at the chanel show,link above) who needs three feet long eyelash extensions when you can have lids of gold. talk about your buried treasure.

daily fashion tip_scarlet. little red riding hood must have known something no one else knew. red can be just as tasteful as any other color, if you where it correctly. it's daring and as such i am requesting, no, ordering you to go to the next all black party on your list, in a little red dress. same as black but theres no chance that you won't be turning heads as soon as your coat hits the floor. there's a she wolf in the closet....

hey.

i saw fame today with my best friend.
i was more than mildly dissopointed. maybe i feel asleep and missed all the awesome parts. don't get me wrong the actors/actresses and preformers where beyond talented in their preformances but it lacked something. i remeber the commercials where so exciting. dont let that fool you. its true that the art world is not a joke and that if you dont work you dont get anywhere. the movie portrayed this to the nines. but, i thought people saw movies to get away from this idea. documentaries are for realism (i cant wait for captalism a love story). again, great cast, horrible editor. the editors for this movie need to be black listed. possibly the director for letting them chop the film into such a... well you decide for yourself. just decide when it comes out on dvd.

on the fashion note. its getting chilly. pull out those scarves. and umbrellas. east coast falls are always a tad rainy.

daily fashion tip_lotion. keep mourstroized throught out the day with one of those travel lotions. no one likes to shake dry hands or dry anything for that matter. crusty just doesnt cut it. the little bottles of lotion are only 99cents so no excuses. the more you morstroize the raidiance in your skin will increase. and who could resist a glowing gal? touch and be touched.

it is, once again, designer friday!!!!

today my sights are set on one natalie chanin owner of alabama chanin. she's nomimee for the cfda/vogue fashion fund. if she's good enough for them, she's good enough for us. she was born in florance, alabama and got a degree in enviromental design from north carolina state university. shes made a few documentaries and is a self proclaimed "enthusiastic cook." in 2006 she launched alabama chanin to hold on to community and cultural american traditions. they make limited edition products for you and your home. all of the pieces are constructed by artist who live in and around florance, alabama. all the limited edition products are signed by the artist that created it. their motto says it all; "grown-to-sewn in (the) usa.

when you first look at the website you think, walmart maybe, but looking at the collections i just want to reach throught the computer and stroke the fabric. there is denim for days and all the pieces are crafted in that soft, traditional, anthropology feeling way. soft and startling; who knew one of a kind could be so wonderful.

speaking of soft. winter maybe a warm toned season but soft tones are all ways in season. its all about the romantic. flowers, pink suede, crepe de chein, and chiffon. dont forget those riding boots and bows folks. think english country side. less polo, more john keats.

daily fashion tip_an anthem. take anysong you love with a heavy beat and strong words to pump you up when your down. memorize it, sing it in the shower if you have to. play it in your head when you walk down the grocery aisle and when you need a quick pick up. stomp the ground like your on a runway. mj said it best, "pretty young thing...!"

todays topic is the that which has been on the minds of people for centuries_vampires.

yes, they are everywhere, no they are not taking over. you, however, must admit their is something about creatures who are neither living nor dead, brooding, mysterious, and charming thats fasinating. oh, and they suck blood. in the case of twilight you've got edward cullen; a "vegitarian" vamp who only drinks the blood of animals. p.s. he's about more than a hundred years old and he looks seventeen, talk abotu a timeless beauty. there is also the star of the cw's vampire diaries; a brooding vamp who returns to his home town, falls in love with a girl that looks like his first love. oh, by the way, his crazed brother follows him, tormenting him at every corner, and trying to convince him to return to sucking the life out of humans. this might just get interesting. there is also hbo's true blood. a show i have yet to watch but it seems that everyone who has has nothing but gobs of information to share with me. i am, i will admit, slightly obsessed with the vampires. sherlock holmes is great but the mystery of a vampire is something that will always be in the back of your mind. dracula ain't got nothing on the fanged romances of today.

fashion week has been over for a while now. *tear. if you missed any of the shows go to style.com and check them out. even better, go directly to the lines website and see if they have a video clip of their own show. think of it as a vip exclusive showing. just you and the clothes, you and the clothes.

daily fashion tip_red lips. in the spirit of vamping, of course. different reds work for different skin tones. go to a beauty store and ask them what colors they believe would work with your skin. dont get paranoid, beauty people are trained to know these things(just dont ask the desperate looking lady who looks like she needs a sale). alernative_ go out with your friends and ask them what they think looks best. no shiny stuff, only matte, this is not lipgloss ok, we want you to look like the blood sucking pin up you really re. work with me. in addition, clinique has a group of lipsticks that have supposedly been proven to brighten your teeth one shade. and for all you go getters, lip stains last long and don't smudge.keep it neat with a pencil the same shade as your lips in case some of the lipstick wears of. so what. in addition, clinique has a group of lipsticks that have supposedly been proven to give you a whiter smile(at least one shade). so what the heck, grin and bear it. after all, you are a man eater.

i've been feeling slightly inspired by prints. specifically animal. i don't know whats going on. first i wanted a faux fur vest and today i want leapord tights. call it jungle fever, but animals always in right? i mean, they where kinda around before us so why not pay tribute to that those other species we share the planet with. ps_there's animal print cardis, flats, heels, shirts, hats, gloves, dresses, and, of course, tights. but don't get carried away, your not jane from tarzan, deary.

another thing thats got me awwed... beth ditto. yup the outspoken musician of the band gossip. she is quite the bad ass. i never believed it when i heard someone could play a prada gig in their undies, but i have been proved wrong. sho nuff, she bares it all. check out her bands cd mussic for men.

daily fashion tip_a mirror. a mirror large and wide enough so that you can see your entire body. i don't care how much u hate ur love handles or your flat butt. when you walk out the house you need to be in tip top shape. sometimes i wonder if people look in the mirror before they leave the house. i mean, truly, honestly, truly, your hot. look at your self and smile sometimes, like madea says "smile at your self girl, just look in the mirror and go ting!" looks like it's universe 2 (days i havent written) me 11. technically i'm winning but i seem to really be off my biscut at the moment. vitamin water focus, anyone?

it's monday. they truly suck. here are a few tips to keep from crashing liek a jet plane after the weekend,
drink water, eat every three hours (small portions people we are not trying to break belts here), wash your face and hands when you get home, and my favorite_take a nap before you eat.

it seems my shining light for waking up today is gossip girl.

daily fashion tip_it's the end of my all black reign. try emerald. no im not talking about the city in the wizard of oz. the color has a deep mysterious value (like in the nail polish i just bought). pick up a knitted emerald over sized scarf or a sparkling cocktail ring. oh, and what the heck pair it with a black wool jacket or coat (old habits die hard) your not in kansas anymore toto.

day eleven.

i just saw the september issue the documentary today. it's just the best damn thing ever. i left smiling ear to ear. i almost clapped, cried, and i certaintly gasped quite a lot. without telling you to much i will let you know that it is a reality film. no, not reality like real housewives of atlanta. reality like, if someone just followed you with a camera, no editing. the movie chronicles the making of vogue'september issue 2007. mind boggiling. the camera film follows anna wintour, grace coddington, and andre talley leon in their important lines of work. if new york is where dreams are made then vogue is where they are broken, built up, assesed, and considered. either it's in or it's out and anna wintour is quite sure of all her convictions. the picture is absolutely beautiful. when it comes out on dvd it will be my most prized possesion. for anyone who does'nt think fashion is a serious buisness, tie them to a chair and make them watch this film. fashion is not all fun and games. it's tough as nails and sacrafice is the only way to make it. no sacrafice, no reward, and in fashion, the reward is always beautiful.

film and fashion have always gone hand and hand. film stars are fashion stars. celebrities have always influenced what we choose to wear. audrey hepburn is one of my favorite film stars. check her out in brekfast at tiffanys and my favorite black and white movie (not counting the suave casablanca) is her feature roman holiday. she proves that style is beyond legend, it's epic.

fur. its a controversial issue but it definetly hints at that luxurious sophisticated ideal. its quite romantic and adult but serious and important. im not quite a fan of real fur but i guarentee that i will be purchasing a faux fur vest this week. its an essential and im all about essentials.

daily fashion tip_a black v neck sweater. it is both simple and warm. it's also great for carrying off an arm full of bracelets or a necklace thats the central point of your outfit. like i said before, black is back.
